Step 1: Install Java 8 (JDK 8)
Open terminal and enter the following commands.
sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:webupd8team/java
sudo apt-get update
echo debconf shared/accepted-oracle-license-v1-1 select true | sudo debconf-set-selections
echo debconf shared/accepted-oracle-license-v1-1 seen true | sudo debconf-set-selections
sudo apt-get -y install oracle-java8-installer
Setup JAVA Environment
sudo apt-get -y install oracle-java8-set-default
Step 2: Verify JAVA Version
After successfully installing oracle java using above step verify installed version using following command.
$ java -version
You see output similar to this.
java version “1.8.0_25”
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_25-b17)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.25-b02, mixed mode)
